  • CamphillCommunities
Camphill Communities are formed of groups of people, some with special needs or disability, some more able, who live, work and learn together, in an atmosphere of mutual respect. At the core of the Community is the recognition of the dignity of people with mental disabilities and a putting aside of their own material needs by those who care for them as part of the giving and sharing of communal life.

  • KCAT
KCAT stands for Kilkenny Collective for Arts Talent and was started by the Camphill Communties of Ireland in 1996. It began as an EU Horizon funded project to facilitate the artistic and personal development of seven individuals with a range of disabilities. From this and contacts with other projects in Europe grew the need and inspiration for the permanent centre. KCAT now runs an Arts Council funded studio for artists with special needs and a VEC Art Course open to anybody. KCAT also organises exhibitions and other events, an annual art summer school, weekend, holiday and evening courses and workshops for children.
